Unlike this studio I can give an example that I got replies from both the developer and the publisher of Slay the Spire after three years from game's release, while got no reply on this one in the first year after its release. And this studio is not supporting anyone as it does not reply to their contact email and does not maintain the discord server it established. Game is a service that has to keep running and be supported by the creators up to the point when it is no longer on store. But all I wanna say is that since nowadays many things (including games) are serivces rather than products, as we do not own anything but the license to use them, this means that they just can't be compared to books like Connor McGee said in this thread previously, because books do not need any support after release, unlike games. I get your point, that the game is done - certainly it is. Sure you can say that the game is done - it is working mostly fine, but it does not mean that they can leave it hanging in the store "as it is" and not to give a ♡♡♡ about communicating with the players by the means that THEY established in the first place. I sent an email to the developer but got NO response in 7 days. Moreover, I can't buy any of the dlcs for the game and I was adviced to contact developer support by the steam one. Moreover, there are lots of spam messages there and nobody cares about it. I tried to contact someone on their discord about it, but got NO response from devs or anyone. And this fact just does not correspond with that message. The patch was launched after 2 weeks after this message. "There are multiple updates planned to release in the upcoming weeks" It is good that there is at least one patch, however lemme quote the developer here: Look, luckily I don't know any games left in EA, (ones that I assume you count as abbandoned), but as for this one, it got one patch after release and no further info on any paid/free new content after a YEAR.
